The clip, uploaded on October 20 to an Instagram account called Jnx king Hg, shows a figure pulling a trigger and a simulated blast that appears to demolish Vidhana Soudha.
The post sparked fury across Bengaluru’s online community, with users demanding strict action and the account was later deactivated. Police clarified that no real fire occurred.
Officials warned that fabricated videos of attacks could incite panic and pose a security threat, urging vigilance against AI‑based misinformation.
An FIR has been filed under the Information Technology Act, and authorities will probe Ali’s motive while preparing a charge sheet within 30 days.
