The NDTV World Summit 2026, slated for October 22–23 in New Delhi, will bring together political leaders, diplomats and business executives to discuss global challenges under the theme "A World Between Orders." The summit’s agenda includes sessions on climate change, technology, and economic resilience.
On the opening day, Abeysinghe will chair a 5‑p.m. session titled "Sri Lanka’s Economic Reset: Recovery, Resilience and the Road Ahead." He will present policy measures intended to restore growth after the 2022 debt crisis, emphasizing tax reform, foreign‑direct‑investment incentives and digital transformation of industry.
The Deputy Minister’s roadmap calls for streamlined licensing procedures, expanded export subsidies, and public‑private partnerships to revitalize the manufacturing sector. Analysts say these steps could boost Sri Lanka’s GDP by up to 3% over the next five years.
A local textile entrepreneur, Priyanka Perera, said the minister’s proposals could unlock new market opportunities for small‑scale producers in the western province, potentially raising local incomes.
Following the summit’s closing keynote on October 23, Abeysinghe plans to meet with Indian investors at the India–Sri Lanka Business Forum, where he will pitch bilateral trade initiatives and seek commitments to joint ventures.
