MD Feroz (Fazal) of the Hyderabad Bouncer Supply Agency said the ban stemmed from a directive that followed Bajrang Dal convenor Siva Ramulu’s public call for organisers to avoid hiring people of other faiths for security.
The agencies estimated that thousands of Muslim bouncers across Telangana have reported being denied positions, arguing that hiring should be based on competence, not faith, and that discriminatory practices threaten the livelihoods of a sizable security sector.
Asaduddin Owaisi, MP and AIMIM president, echoed the complaint in a press conference, warning that "extremist pressure is forcing organisers to boycott Muslim workers, threatening communal harmony in Telangana."
Police officials confirmed they are reviewing the complaint and will issue guidelines before the next Navratri season to prevent religious bias in hiring.
The agencies plan to meet with the police next Tuesday, while the state government is expected to respond to the allegations by mid‑week.
