Škoda Auto India will lift the ex‑showroom price of every model by a maximum of ₹20,000, equivalent to roughly 1.2 % of the original list. The change takes effect on 1 October 2026 and will be visible across all variants, from the entry‑level Kylaq at ₹7.59 lakh to the flagship Octavia at ₹31.99 lakh.
The move comes after a wave of similar hikes across the industry. Maruti Suzuki just raised its models by up to ₹30,000, Hyundai by 1 % (up to ₹12,800), Kia by 2 %, and Tata Motors by 1.5 % for passenger cars. Škoda’s increase sits in the middle of that range, reflecting the company’s need to absorb higher raw‑material and logistics costs while staying competitive.
For buyers, the price bump is modest but still nudges a few models closer to the ₹10 lakh ceiling. The Kushaq, which previously started at ₹9.99 lakh, will now begin at ₹10.19 lakh, putting it just above the popular sub‑₹10 lakh segment. Those eyeing the Kylaq will see a similar 1.2 % rise, keeping it comfortably under ₹10 lakh but tightening the margin against rivals like the Maruti Swift or Hyundai Aura.
Škoda’s strategy appears two‑fold: introduce refreshed models such as the new Slavia and Kushaq, and roll out sportier RS variants, while offsetting cost inflation through a modest price adjustment. The brand posted 72,655 sales in 2025, its highest annual figure, and has already surpassed 50,000 units sold in the first half of 2026, suggesting that the price hike might not dent demand as sharply as feared.
Dealers will start applying the new price from the first day of October. The ex‑showroom figures will be updated on the official website and in dealership price lists, and buyers can still negotiate on after‑tax take‑away costs. Keep an eye on the next quarter for any further adjustments, as well as the launch of the Kodiaq RS, which could shift the competitive dynamics in the compact SUV segment.
