In the petition, the student argues that the spread of misinformation on social media violated the Information Technology Act and that the university’s security response was inadequate, demanding a CBI investigation to uncover the perpetrators and prevent future incidents.
Chief Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Rohit Kapoor will hear the case next Wednesday, with the court expected to decide whether to compel the CBI to investigate and to order a comprehensive review of campus safety protocols.
