Beni Rae Harmony, 24, will assume the post of Assistant Press Secretary for the Trump Administration Monday, Oct. 4, 2026, after President Trump announced the appointment on Oct. 2. Harmony cut a career in conservative journalism, serving as chief White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice from September 2025 until August 2026. She left her Springfield anchoring job after a suspended tribute to Charlie Kirk, a move that sparked a brief controversy and led to her resignation.
White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly praised Harmony as a “trusted voice for the MAGA movement” and said she would be a solid addition to the communications team. Trump added that Leavitt’s departure would allow Harmony to take on the “full spectrum” of media duties.
The appointment comes as the administration ramps up messaging ahead of the 2026 mid‑term elections and new policy initiatives. Harmony will oversee the White House’s media strategy and coordinate press briefings, with her first briefing slated for Friday, Oct. 6.
