Actor Tiger Shroff was shot in Mumbai's Juhu on Sunday evening, his driver sustaining a gunshot wound. The attack came six days after the second anniversary of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique's murder, an event that has already seen a Bishnoi gang claim responsibility. Police say Shroff was unharmed and that a voice recording surfaced in which a man calling himself Anil Pandit warned that anyone working without aligning with the gang—or with Salman Khan—would be killed.
Baba Siddique was gunned down outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra (East) on October 12, 2024, dying later at Lilavati Hospital. The killing was carried out by three gunmen who had surveilled Siddique for months, and the case was linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has a history of targeting Salman Khan and his associates. Since 2023, the gang has fired at Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartments, his Panvel farmhouse, and even a comedian’s café in Canada, citing the actor’s alleged ties to a black‑buck hunting case and a perceived threat to the Bishnoi community’s religious principles.
The voice clip identifying Anil Pandit also names Harman Sandhu as an accomplice, while Shubham Lonkar—who claimed responsibility for Siddique’s murder—has been arrested in the United States. Anmol Bishnoi, the gang’s alleged mastermind, was deported from the US in November 2025 and is now jailed in Delhi’s Tihar. Authorities have seized three pistols and a surveillance trail that led them to the Juhu attack.
Police spokesperson Neha Sharma said the driver was rushed to a nearby hospital but is expected to recover. Shroff, who has declined to comment, reportedly left the scene unharmed and is said to be consulting a doctor. The incident has reignited fears among Mumbai’s film fraternity, with a resident of Juhu noting, 'We never thought this would happen so close to home.'
An arrest warrant has been issued for Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, and a special court in Mumbai is slated to hear the case on October 25. Law enforcement officials say the investigation is still underway, and they are probing whether the attack was part of a broader campaign by the Bishnoi gang. Meanwhile, the NIA has increased its surveillance of gang members in Mumbai and Delhi.
