The partnership between SWITCH Mobility, a leading EV solutions provider, and Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur, has just inked a memorandum of understanding to launch a dedicated EV skill development centre.
The campus‑based hub will drill students and technicians through hands‑on modules in EV systems, battery chemistry, power electronics, and charging infrastructure. R G Venkataraman, SWITCH’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the company will bring in its industry know‑how to shape the curriculum.
India’s commercial‑EV market is projected to hit double‑digit growth next year, but a talent gap has been slowing adoption. By aligning academia with real‑world needs, the centre hopes to close that loop and keep the supply chain humming.
For fleet operators and buyers, that translates to fewer downtime headaches and a broader network of qualified service technicians. With more people trained in battery swaps and on‑board diagnostics, maintenance costs could dip, and confidence in electric vans and trucks should climb.
