Last night, armed men opened fire on Tiger Shroff’s car as it parked near a Mumbai restaurant; the driver was wounded and taken to a hospital.
Shroff met Deputy CM Eknath Shinde the next morning; he told the official that he was unaware of any threat and had never crossed paths with the gang.
Shinde assured Shroff and his father, Jackie Shroff, of additional security; he said police would station guards at the actor’s residence.
The attack was claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a U.S.-based outfit that has targeted Salman Khan in the past; the gang’s representative, Anil Pandit, allegedly warned Shroff against working with Khan.
Shinde called for a crackdown on gang networks, promising that authorities would investigate the gang’s roots and deploy stronger protection for celebrities; a police briefing is scheduled for tomorrow.
