BYD India has just rolled out a limited‑run SEALION 7 Festive Edition, set at ₹50.60 lakh ex‑showroom. The 150‑unit launch lines up with the country’s biggest sales window, when buyers are most likely to splurge on a new vehicle.
The SUV keeps the 82.56‑kWh Blade Battery and the same 230‑kW powertrain that pushes it from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The manufacturer claims a 567‑km NEDC range, but real‑world numbers tend to sit a little lower, similar to what we see with the Hyundai Kona Electric or the Mahindra e‑Verito.
The cabin is a muted Tan‑Black mix that replaces the standard color palette. Inside, a 15.6‑inch rotating touchscreen, quilted Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, and a heads‑up display roll out. Safety comes with 11 airbags and a 5‑Star Euro NCAP rating, a badge many Indian buyers still treat as a benchmark.
The SEALION 7 debuted in India last year and has already crossed 4,500 units on the road. It has bagged a handful of awards – Luxury Mid‑size SUV of the Year, Premium EV of the Year, and Best EV Design – cementing its status in the premium segment that now includes the Tata Prime EV, Mahindra eVerito, and MG ZS EV.
Dealers say the 150‑unit batch will be distributed across the established BYD network, starting in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Buyers who want this exclusive variant should book ahead, as the limited supply could sell out quickly once the festive season kicks off.
