YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was taken from his Gurugram home on Saturday morning ahead of the Cockroach Janata Party protest.
He says about 20 people in civilian clothing entered his house, forced him out of his bedroom, dragged him down the stairs, and left him injured.
Rathee claims his smartphone and his parents’ phones were seized and that he was denied access to a lawyer, though the officers assured him he would be released.
He alleges his mother was physically assaulted during the raid, adding a personal dimension to the claim of unlawful treatment.
In a video posted on X, he dismissed rumors that he holds a foreign passport, affirmed his Indian citizenship, and accused the Modi‑led government of creating an unofficial emergency.
He has asked the police to investigate the incident; no official response has been issued as of now.
