On Thursday, J.C. Prabhakar Reddy, a senior TDP leader, lay on a bed outside the Tadipatri Rural Police Station, vowing to stay overnight and demand police action over the alleged attack on party workers in Thimmampalli village.
The protest follows a clash between TDP and YSRCP supporters in Thimmampalli village under Yellanur mandal, where both sides reportedly threw stones. TDP supporters say YSRCP workers assaulted their houses during the confrontation.
The incident rekindles the long‑standing rivalry between Prabhakar Reddy and former MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy, who won the Tadipatri Assembly seat in 2019 and lost it in 2024.
Police have deployed a heavy contingent across Tadipatri, intervening at the residence of Pedda Reddy after a large group of TDP supporters gathered, and preventing vandalism of YSRCP leaders’ houses by unidentified persons. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, with a spokesperson saying further action will be taken if violence escalates.
