If you’re gearing up for India’s toughest trails, the Ducati DesertX V2’s Q4 2026 arrival is the next big thing.
The heart of the bike is a new 890cc V2 unit that spits out 110 hp at 9,000 rpm and 92 Nm at 7,000 rpm. What sets it apart is variable valve timing and a torque curve that delivers 70% of peak torque from 3,000 rpm, giving riders a punch in the low‑rev range that’s handy on uneven terrain.
Under the skin, Ducati has swapped the old steel trellis for an aluminium monocoque, keeping a trellis subframe only at the rear. The 18‑litre polymer tank is a touch slimmer than its predecessor, and the seat, handlebar and footpeg positions have been nudged forward, offering more freedom to move while standing on loose surfaces.
Off‑road gear stays true to the DesertX DNA: 21‑inch front and 18‑inch rear tubeless spoke wheels, 46‑mm KYB forks with 230 mm of travel and a 220‑mm KYB monoshock. Brembo M4.32 radial calipers, twin 305‑mm front discs and a 209‑kg wet weight give the bike a solid, low‑centre‑of‑gravity feel.
Electronics have been overhauled. A 5‑inch full‑TFT display replaces the older unit, and the bike now runs six riding modes – Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, and Rally – all fed by a six‑axis IMU. Cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine‑brake control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 are standard, while cruise control, navigation and multimedia are optional.
The launch is slated for the last quarter of 2026, but Ducati has yet to disclose a price or exact date. While the bike will compete with the KTM 1290 Super Adventure and Yamaha Tenere 700, its lighter chassis and low‑rev torque give it a distinct advantage for riders who need both adventure capability and everyday usability.
