The Union Cabinet adopted the resolution on Tuesday, lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's uninterrupted 25 years as head of government from Gujarat to the national stage. The document frames his tenure as a "Nation First and Citizen First" journey, underscoring the enduring trust reflected in three successive Lok Sabha victories.
The resolution highlights tangible outcomes: 60 crore Jan Dhan accounts opened, more than 4 crore housing projects completed, and 25 crore people lifted out of poverty. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, noted that these figures translate personal experience into mass‑scale public action, citing the PM’s early exposure to hardship through his mother’s struggles.
Technology and science were spotlighted as pillars of Modi’s agenda. The resolution credits UPI with revolutionizing payments, Aadhaar with streamlining welfare delivery, and Chandrayaan‑3’s successful lunar landing as evidence of a self‑reliant, scientifically capable India. A farmer in Rajasthan, who used the Pragati portal to expedite his irrigation project, said the new policies finally gave him the time and confidence to increase his crop yield.
Reforms that carried political risk also feature prominently. GST rollout, welfare delivery overhauls, and the repeal of colonial laws are cited as milestones that required decisive leadership. The resolution specifically praises the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam for expanding women’s representation and the Lakhpati Didi scheme for empowering 3.5 crore entrepreneurs.
The next step, as outlined in the resolution, is the launch of a coordinated commemorative calendar that will culminate in a national celebration in December, with special events in key districts to honor contributions from ordinary citizens and to reinforce the narrative of inclusive progress.
