Adani Airport Holdings is scaling NMIA’s ground transport to 4,594 vehicles and services as the winter timetable looms. The Winter Schedule, running from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027, will see the airport serve a growing passenger base across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation will roll out e‑Shivai electric buses from 7 October. Three routes will link NMIA to Dadar, Borivali and Pune, charging Rs 170, 210 and 450 respectively. Children under 12 and women with a National Common Mobility Card get a 50% concession.
Meanwhile, Chalo Bus already runs 21 daily services to Marol, Bandra, Dadar and the World Trade Centre, adding extra capacity during peak periods. Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport runs seven dedicated routes, A1 to A7, connecting Terminal 1 with Kharkopar, Targhar, Belapur, Nerul, Panvel and Khandeshwar. The first Pune route will operate twice daily, while plans for Thane and Nashik services are slated for mid‑November.
Taxi options swell with Uber Go, Uber Premier and Uber Auto offering app‑based rides, while Bharat Taxi will launch a 40‑vehicle fleet on 10 October. An hourly inter‑airport shuttle between NMIA and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will be run by Cityflo, Aarya and Chalo. Pre‑paid taxi and autorickshaw stands, car rentals and wayfinding signage will also be upgraded.
Overall, the airport’s ground transport capacity has increased from a few hundred to 4,594 vehicles and services, including 3,787 app‑based taxis, 184 car rentals, 171 autorickshaws and 547 buses. Dedicated zones for buses, shuttles, arrivals and departures are being demarcated, and passenger assistance desks will offer real‑time guidance.
With these upgrades, NMIA is set to become a pivotal node in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s mobility network, offering seamless transfers during the new winter timetable.
