Delhi government reduced export levies on petrol, diesel and ATF by Rs 1, Rs 5 and Rs 4 respectively, effective 16 September 2026.
Under the new schedule, the petrol levy falls from Rs 1.5 to Rs 0.5 per litre, diesel drops from Rs 25 to Rs 20, and ATF falls from Rs 19 to Rs 15.
The diesel levy previously comprised Rs 24 as Special Additional Excise Duty and Rs 1 as Road and Infrastructure Cess; the new rate eliminates the RIC and reduces SAED to Rs 20.
The fortnightly review system, instituted on 27 March 2026, adjusts levies according to international crude prices and aims to safeguard domestic supply amid the West Asia crisis.
Finance Ministry officials said the adjustments will lower export costs for firms and help maintain price stability for consumers, without altering domestic excise duties.
The next review is scheduled for 1 October 2026, when levies may be readjusted again based on market movements.
