She demanded criminal prosecution for treason, arguing that the CEC's legal shield should not cover unlawful acts. The Congress MP from Wayanad called the alleged tampering a criminal act against democracy, the constitution, and the nation.
The deletion, alleged to have taken place nationwide, would have disenfranchised millions of voters and altered the electoral landscape.
Election Commission officials countered, stating that all decisions in the SIR had been made unanimously and that divergent views are part of deliberation. They added that the Commission's orders were the outcome of a full commission meeting and not the result of any single individual's action.
The Commission has denied the allegations, asserting its decisions were unanimous.
