KTM’s new plant in Manaus kicks off operations ahead of its October 14 inauguration, with a 20,000‑bike annual capacity. The first 3,500 units will roll out by the end of 2026.
What does that mean for a buyer? With production moving from CKD kits to full assembly, import duties drop, pushing prices down. The 390 Adventure R and X, priced at R$37,990 and R$33,990, hit dealerships this month.
The plant will churn out ten models across motocross, enduro and adventure. From the 250 and 450 SX‑F motocross beasts to the 250 and 350 EXC‑F enduros, and the Husqvarna FE 350, TE 300 PRO, all will be locally born.
KTM now competes directly with Honda’s CRF series and Yamaha’s YZ lineup in the off‑road segment, while the adventure line takes on the Ducati Multistrada and the BMW F 750 GS. Local assembly gives it a price edge.
Bajaj Auto, which co‑owns the facility, highlighted cost efficiency and flexible production as priorities. The 20 million‑reais investment will also create 100 jobs, knitting the brands into Brazil's motorcycle ecosystem.
The plant will be fully operational by October, and KTM plans 30 dealer outlets by 2027. Watch for the rollout of the 250 SX‑F and 450 SX‑F into local shops next quarter.
