CJP’s ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ campaign has seen a split response from city authorities. Mumbai’s police granted the party a 10‑am to 5‑pm slot at Azad Maidan. Bengaluru’s civic body barred a Town Hall protest.
In Delhi, the CJP called for a 5‑pm march at Central Park, but the Delhi Municipal Council declared the park closed on Oct. 16 and 17. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita remain in force, and over 25,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed.
Delhi Police spokesperson Rajiv Kumar said a limited march could be allowed at a "suitable location" if authorities deem it safe. The party’s founder Abhijeet Dipke urged supporters to assemble peacefully, but the police said any large gathering would be prohibited.
The CJP’s campaign follows the arrest of co‑conveners Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, who were sent to judicial custody after being detained in Delhi. The group has blamed the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls for voter deletions and has called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Bengaluru’s protest was held on Oct. 8 at Freedom Park, where actor Prakash Raj and YouTuber Dhruv Rathee joined the march. The city’s authorities had earlier approved a demonstration at Freedom Park but denied the planned Town Hall event.
The Delhi authorities are expected to finalize a venue for any permissible march by Friday night, while CJP leaders plan to reassess their strategy for the coming weeks.
