Prince Khalid bin Salman, Ibrahim Kalin and Asim Munir flew into Tehran on Monday, meeting President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei.
The meeting marks the first high‑level contact between the three Gulf allies and Iran since the 2019 war that erupted after U.S. and Israeli airstrikes.
At the conclusion of talks, all four sides pledged to keep diplomatic lines open, focusing on peace and security cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Houthis have launched new assaults on Saudi infrastructure, striking pumping stations on the East‑West pipeline and Riyadh airport, prompting Saudi air strikes that have been intensified since last month.
Egypt’s parliament authorised the military to provide defensive aid to Saudi Arabia, signalling a shift toward formalised support under the Mecca pact.
Qatar’s mediators, active since June, will likely monitor the next round of negotiations, while the U.S. and Israel remain observers.
