Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) said Tuesday that its TajSATS‑run flight kitchen, located within the airport precinct, is now fully operational and ready to support the expanding airline network ahead of the Winter 2026‑27 schedule.
The kitchen currently serves more than 40 departing flights daily and is configured to produce up to 7,500 meals a day, with a potential expansion to 15,000 meals as traffic grows.
Subhash Murikenchery, Chief Airport Officer, said the facility provides local meal‑uplift for international carriers and enhances the culinary experience for passengers. He added that the kitchen’s design allows airlines flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and demand.
Iffirming safety, the kitchen meets HACCP, ISO 22000 and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India regulations, and can accommodate special, allergen‑sensitive and halal menus.
TajSATS, with over four decades of experience, also operates the flight kitchen at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, underscoring its role in India’s aviation catering sector.
NMIA will monitor the winter schedule to gauge demand, and the airport plans to scale the kitchen’s output to 15,000 meals daily as airline movements increase.
