Md Waseem was found dead Thursday afternoon on the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway in Upparpally, Hyderabad, after an altercation with two of his associates. The 32‑year‑old was stabbed repeatedly and died en route to the hospital.
CCTV footage shows Waseem surrounded by four men; two of them suddenly attack him, stabbing and kicking while the others scramble to intervene. The video, released by the Rajendranagar police, captures the violent escalation that led to Waseem’s fatal injuries.
Rajendranagar ACP T. Srinivas said the suspects believed Waseem was leaking details of their ganja sales to authorities. “The preliminary probe revealed they decided to kill him after suspecting he was informing the police,” Srinivas told reporters.
Police note that Waseem and the accused had been booked in earlier drug‑peddling cases. A murder charge has been filed and special task forces are hunting the suspects, who fled the scene immediately after the attack.
The incident follows a spate of killings in Hyderabad this year; in September alone the city recorded ten murder cases, underscoring a rising tide of violence.
Authorities urge the public to come forward with information and the manhunt will intensify until the suspects are located. The next phase of the investigation will focus on tracing the two men’s movements after the attack.
