A tractor‑trolley carrying about 30 devotees overturned on a narrow road near Pindarsi village in Kurukshetra district, killing six and injuring more than 15, police said Thursday. The group had set out from Kalal Majra bound for the Gogamedi Temple in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. Among the dead were 58‑year‑old Leela Devi, 50‑year‑old Bala Devi, 60‑year‑old Bohati Devi, 25‑year‑old Anjali, her 18‑month‑old daughter Seerat, and 7‑year‑old Harsh; two injured women are in critical condition.
Witnesses report a timber‑laden trolley slammed into the vehicle, causing the overturn; some also said a truck was involved. The crash left the trolley twisted, trapping several passengers beneath it. Police transported the wounded to Kurukshetra Civil Hospital and Janta Hospital.
Station House Officer Jagdish Tamas confirmed bodies were sent for post‑mortem at LNJP Hospital, while Anjali and Seerat’s bodies were held at Baran Community Health Centre. Bystanders lifted the overturned trolley and freed trapped pilgrims before paramedics arrived. Authorities are now investigating the collision and will file a report.
