Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X on 25 May 2026 that the 2,000‑km Seva Sankalp Yatra from Tirupati to Kashi, which culminated in Varanasi, was "very touching" after riders carried sacred waters of the Krishna and Godavari rivers.
The yatra spanned five states in seven days, marking the 25th anniversary of Modi’s public service. Participants carried water as a symbol of Seva, Sankalp and Nation First, echoing the nation’s cultural ethos.
TDP State General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Chintakayala Vijay greeted the riders, thanking Modi for the appreciation. He described the gesture as "a moment of immense pride" for Andhra Pradesh and congratulated the Prime Minister on his quarter‑century tenure.
Modi highlighted the yatra’s emphasis on good governance and cultural unity, citing Adi Shankaracharya’s monasteries as a parallel. He praised TDP leaders and cadre for organising the event and noted how the waters reaching Baba Vishwanath symbolised the spiritual bond between Andhra Pradesh and Kashi.
Uttar Pradesh officials expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. Modi thanked Minister Ravindra Jaiswal and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, underscoring the inter‑state cooperation that made the journey possible.
The central government will issue a joint statement with the TDP to coordinate cultural outreach along the yatra route, signalling a new phase of heritage promotion.
