During the foundation stone ceremony, Jeet Adani lauded CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s rapid decision‑making. He called the chief minister’s style "completely Gen Z," noting that Sarma’s insistence on ground‑level delivery keeps projects moving faster than paperwork. Adani said the CM’s oversight feels like a CEO driving the state’s development engine.
Adani added that the Adani Group has invested close to ₹80,000 crore in Assam, a figure that includes the Dhubri plant and other infrastructure projects. He highlighted that four to five job drives have recruited about 4,500 locals, and that the company anticipates creating roughly 40,000 jobs directly and indirectly.
The 3,200‑MW thermal plant, slated to be the Northeast’s largest power asset, will help meet industrial demand and bring cheaper electricity to households. "It will fuel industries, give businesses the power to scale, and help bring affordable electricity to homes," Adani said.
Beyond power, the Adani Group is building Guwahati Airport City, a mixed‑use commercial hub that will feature two hotels, retail, food and entertainment zones in its first phase. The development aims to position the state as a regional business and tourism center.
Adani also highlighted the Adani Foundation’s flood‑relief work in Sivasagar and Dhemaji, and its community programs in Kamrup that cover education, healthcare, livelihoods and skill development. "Assam is no longer just a project destination on a map—its people feel like our own," he added, underscoring the human dimension of the company’s investments.
