K Shobha Reddy, the owner of Hyderabad‑based Mithuna Ads, claims she received a phone call on September 12, 2024, from a man she believed to be a senior aide of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, asking her to meet at a guest house to talk about her pending revenue‑sharing proposals for outdoor advertising.
She says the invitation came after three years of trying to secure a lawful foothold in the sector, during which she submitted detailed proposals for a temporary arrangement pending a formal tender. While her papers were under review, Reddy alleges that several advertising structures continued to operate, ignoring notices and unresolved compliance issues, and that pilot projects were granted exemptions under Government Order (GOM) No. 68.
BRS leader M Krishank, speaking at a party press conference, demanded a clear answer from the CM and pressed for the identity of the “close associate” who reportedly facilitated the guest‑house meeting. He said the alleged arrangement could undermine the integrity of the tender process.
Reddy, who runs a firm that employs 12 people, said the delay in formal approvals has stalled her growth and punished her small‑business team. She added that she sought only a fair, transparent channel, not favoritism, and that the alleged meeting violated the norms of proper governance.
The Telangana government has yet to issue a public response, and the BRS has called for a probe into the matter. A statement from the CM’s office is expected by Thursday, when the opposition will likely press for an independent inquiry.
