Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that Volodymyr Zelensky should bring in a new face to the table. "Maybe it's time for Zelenskiy to get somebody else to negotiate," the US President said. This isn't a new stance. On October 10, Trump already called for Ukraine to replace its President.
The White House framed Moscow’s recent behavior as surprisingly benign. "They haven't been doing much," Trump claimed about Russian military actions. Yet the US maintains its intelligence pipeline to Kyiv. Trump confirmed that Washington continues to share critical data with Ukrainian forces.
Domestically, Trump signaled a potential shift for the 1.2 million Ukrainians holding Temporary Protected Status in the US. He said he would consider allowing them to remain in the country until the war ends. This stance contrasts with his earlier skepticism toward refugee intake.
Zelensky’s office has not yet responded to the comments. Diplomatic channels in Geneva are likely to tighten this week as NATO allies weigh in on the US President’s latest diplomatic gambit.
