Hero MotoCorp has pushed the Xtreme 250R Carbon up a notch, setting the price at ₹1.98 lakh ex‑showroom. The move comes with a shiny 4.2‑inch TFT, a new quickshifter and four riding modes that readjust traction control for rain, road, sport and track.
Under the hood the bike stays true to its 249‑cc, liquid‑cooled single‑engine, churning out 30 hp at 9,250 rpm and 25.3 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A six‑speed gearbox and a claimed 0‑60 km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds keep it in line with the Pulsar 250 and the KTM RC 200.
The TFT isn’t just a pretty face. It plugs into smartphones for navigation, calls and messages, and even offers a lap timer and drag timer for the track‑loving rider. Ride‑by‑wire lets the rider switch between modes without touching the throttle, while the quickshifter allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
On the mechanical side, the rear now sports a monoshock with Frequency Selective Damping that smooths out small bumps but still lets you feel the road on larger irregularities. The front 43‑mm upside‑down fork stays unchanged.
In price terms, the 1.98‑lakh figure puts the Xtreme 250R Carbon squarely between the Bajaj Pulsar 250 at ₹1.70 lakh and the KTM RC 200 at ₹2.10 lakh. The added tech gives it an edge over rivals that still rely on basic LCDs and manual gear changes.
Bookings are already open across Hero’s network, with deliveries slated to kick off on November 1 through Hero Premia dealerships. If you’re hunting a 250‑cc bike that balances raw power with modern rider aids, the Xtreme 250R Carbon is worth a test ride this coming month.
