Delhi Police dropped a new video on October 11, 2026, capturing a tense moment inside a detention facility. A female officer breaks the bad news to Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, who was held for planning a protest at Jantar Mantar. "Sir, I want to share some information... it is unfortunate news... we are very sorry for that. Your grandmother has died," the officer stated in the clip.
Dipke, who had been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, remained silent for a few seconds. He placed both hands on his lowered head, looking dejected. After a pause, he simply said, "I see."
A male officer then offered logistical help. "Sir, if you have made up your mind to attend your grandmother's funeral, we would arrange for whatever transportation you want," he said. He asked if Dipke wanted to stay or call relatives. Dipke replied that he would stay and that he didn't remember any family numbers to call. When informed the funeral was scheduled for the next week, Dipke said he wouldn't be able to attend.
Despite his initial statement, the police released Dipke from detention on the same day. He left for his hometown in Maharashtra to attend the last rites of his grandmother.
