The clip that set the city abuzz showed Ansh Prajapati and Shivam Ahirwar dangling from the side of a Maruti Suzuki Fronx as it rattled down NH‑19, a reckless stunt that went viral on X.
Chief Police Officer Shiva Kumar said the incident was a blatant disregard of traffic laws, and that officers from Nawabad police station seized the vehicle on 17 October 2026 under Sections 279 and 285 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Local shopkeeper Rajesh Singh, who watched the clip from his shop window, warned that a single misstep could have turned the stunt into a fatal accident, echoing the police’s earlier appeal to the public to abandon dangerous driving.
The accused were produced before the Nawabad Court, where a magistrate scheduled a preliminary hearing for 24 October, signalling a swift legal response.
Police Commissioner Anil Gupta urged citizens to abide by traffic regulations, adding that social‑media stunts pose a real threat to road safety across Uttar Pradesh.
