BHEL's stock slid 2.6% to ₹428.4 ahead of the board meeting on October 14, the day the company will announce its September‑quarter performance.
According to a CNBC‑TV18 poll, analysts expect Q2 revenue to hit ₹9,236 crore, up 23% from ₹7,511 crore reported a year earlier, a figure that already eclipses the sector average for comparable PSU utilities.
EBITDA is forecasted at ₹881 crore, a 52% increase over ₹581 crore last year, and the margin is projected to climb 180 basis points to 9.5% from 7.7%, signalling tighter cost control amid higher sales.
Net profit is slated to surge 78% to ₹654.4 crore versus ₹368 crore a year ago, reflecting a 1.78x return on sales that outpaces the 1.5x trend seen in the broader industrial segment.
Looking ahead, analysts point to muted order inflows for the quarter but anticipate a turnaround in the second half of FY27, contingent on execution speed in the power and industry divisions and improved working‑capital efficiency.
