Bhatia opened the Delhi press conference with a scathing demand that Mann step down, citing the state’s rising violence.
The call followed the brutal double murder of cousins Gagan and Sahil Jindal in Moga, the abduction and killing of 27‑year‑old Nawab Khan in Sangrur, and the gruesome Daba house‑attack that left a victim’s hand severed.
Police have arrested five suspects in Moga, four in Sangrur and multiple in Daba, yet Bhatia accused the AAP government of failing to register FIRs promptly and of allowing criminals to roam free.
Bhatia also slammed AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for remaining silent, and highlighted that families of the victims—especially a mother in Moga who lost both sons—have been left without answers.
The BJP will move a formal motion in the Punjab Assembly on Friday, demanding a parliamentary inquiry into the law‑and‑order failures, while the AAP government has yet to issue a response.
