Delhi Police deployed 6,000 officers to Connaught Place on Oct 16 to preempt a CJP protest. Central Armed Police Forces will also reinforce the deployment.
The New Delhi Municipal Council ordered Central Park closed on Oct 16–17 after denying permission for CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s protest. Dipke reacted on X, questioning whether Narendra Modi would shut down all 100 places if he announced them.
Police warned residents not to join the march, citing Section 163 BNSS and concerns of traders. They allowed a limited group to wave the flag at a designated spot.
Business owners in Connaught Place have requested protection from potential unrest. Delhi Police said it would enforce security and conduct a post‑event assessment on Oct 18.
