Galia Kovo, an Israeli traveler who spent six months solo across India, issued a direct thank-you to the Rajasthan Police. She specifically named Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agrawala and the Gandhi Nagar team for their rapid response. The trigger was a four-year-old clip that recently exploded on social media, showing individuals making inappropriate remarks about Kovo.
The police moved on their own accord. Using technical and intelligence resources, the Ajmer contingent identified the suspects. They conducted raids and arrested four individuals. Authorities have registered a case under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and are currently interrogating the accused.
Kovo clarified the context of the footage. She had originally posted it as a lighthearted travel memory, unaware that the audio contained objectionable comments. Now, she is using her platform to push back against the narrative that the incident reflects broader Indian hospitality. "The four people seen in the video do not represent Indian society as a whole," she stated. She emphasized that she still loves India and hopes to return.
The Rajasthan Police issued a stern statement following the arrests. They declared that misbehavior with foreign tourists or any act disrespecting women will not be tolerated. The force confirmed it will continue using digital tools to track down offenders who surface on social media.
