Sanjeev Singh, Dheerajpal, and Mandeep Singh had once traded small drug parcels through a local smuggler in Ferozepur’s Kulgari area. After that intermediary was nabbed, the trio reportedly struck a deal with a Pakistan‑based trafficker, hoping to bypass intermediaries and pocket larger profits.
On Sep 29, a Fazilka Police contingent conducted sweeps in Jalalabad’s Jalla Lakhen Ke Hithar fields. Officers spotted the three youths near a motor room, each attempting to conceal a plastic sack. When the squad closed in, they were seized and a 4‑kg heroin stash was retrieved.
Investigators say the contraband was delivered by a drone from Pakistan, linking the case to an international supply chain. The police file, FIR 203 under the NDPS Act, is now probing the drone link, the Pakistani contact, and the intended drop site.
A local farmer, who witnessed the youths’ hurried movements, identified them to the officers. He said the men had been seen carrying bags in the mornings before the raid, a detail that helped confirm their role.
The case is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at the Sadar Jalalabad court next month, where prosecutors will present evidence of the drone delivery and seek a bail‑denied ruling. Officials warn that the investigation could expose a wider cross‑border network.
