Eatala Rajender, the BJP MP for Malkajgiri, kicked off a 60‑km padayatra on October 27 from Edulabad, demanding the removal of the Jawaharnagar dumping yard and the fall of the Revanth Reddy government.
Congress leaders accused him of idleness, yet Rajender countered that the party holds a press conference every three days to claim he’s idle.
Amid the Telangana BJP’s November 2 Hyderabad padayatra under the slogan ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arachakata Hatao’, Rajender’s earlier march added a new dimension to the party’s campaign.
Padayatras have long shaped Telangana politics: Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s 1,470‑km march preceded the 2004 victory, Chandrababu Naidu’s 2,817‑km trek helped TDP win 2014, and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 3,648‑km march preceded the 2019 landslide.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao announced a statewide padayatra for 2027, aiming to reconnect with voters and tackle grievances.
Rajender has pledged to continue walking until the Congress government is toppled, with his next stop slated for Hyderabad on November 2.
