Pakistani forces struck Afghanistan's Kunar province Monday, killing three civilians and wounding several others amid rising tensions with the Taliban.
The raid follows a February clash when Pakistani and Afghan troops exchanged fire over a disputed border zone, prompting the Taliban to vow defense of Afghan territory against any incursion.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, speaking to Al Arabiya, said Islamabad would face a "crushing response" if it violates Afghan sovereignty and denied claims that Pakistani militants train in Afghanistan.
Mujahid also urged Islamabad to address its own security issues and called on Saudi Arabia to mediate, citing Riyadh's good relations with both governments.
Pakistan's military spokesperson earlier said the strike targeted a TTP training camp, but Kabul denies sheltering the group, drawing sharp criticism from Afghan officials.
The next day, Islamabad is slated to file a formal protest with the United Nations Security Council, while Kabul prepares a diplomatic response.
