For riders hunting a step‑up from the 100cc or entry‑level 125cc, Bajaj Auto’s FY27 announcement brings two new motorcycle brands that will cover the 125‑250cc segment.
The move is a direct response to a dip in market share last year, where older Pulsar models were still on the lot and newer 150cc‑plus bikes were catching up. Bajaj wants the new brands to slot in beside the Pulsar line, not replace it.
Inside sources say the upcoming models are likely to target the premium side of the market, aiming to compete with the likes of Yamaha YZF‑R15 and Hero Xtreme. Exact power figures, price tags and launch dates are still under wraps, but the focus appears to be on offering a more refined riding experience.
The 125‑250cc segment is a crowded arena. Competitors such as TVS, KTM and even the newer Hyundai models have carved solid niches, so Bajaj’s entry will need to deliver clear differentiation in features or performance.
Bajaj has already refreshed its Pulsar range, with the new 125 and 150 models priced at ₹92,900 and ₹1.15 lakh respectively. The new brands are expected to strengthen its export push, as the company’s overseas shipments have been growing steadily.
While a launch window hasn’t been set, FY27 covers the fiscal year 2023‑24, so expect the bikes to surface sometime in 2024 or 2025. Keep an eye on the official launch for exact specs and pricing.
