Delhi Police shut down two fake job‑placement call centres in Ranjit Nagar, Delhi, and detained eleven suspects.
The raid, coordinated by Special Staff, Cyber and Ranjit Nagar teams, targeted the Lal Ratan building near Shadipur Metro Station, where operators used Xlite VoIP software to call prospective job seekers.
Investigators seized 13 computers, five mobile phones, and stacks of job‑seeker data allegedly sourced from platforms such as Shine.com, along with communication records that show how the scammers built trust before demanding registration fees of ₹1,200 to ₹3,500.
The eleven detainees include four women and seven men, aged 27 to 38. When asked for corporate authorisation letters or placement agreements, none produced any documentation, and several claimed they had no actual clients.
Delhi Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, are tracing the financial trail, and have warned job seekers to verify an employer’s credentials before paying any fee.
The operation underscores the growing sophistication of job‑placement scams in Delhi, prompting authorities to tighten monitoring of call‑centre activities in the city.
