Honda’s total wholesales in September 2026 hit 6,955 units, a 14.09% slide from 8,096 the previous year.
Domestic dispatches slipped 15% year‑on‑year to 4,465 units from 5,303, while exports fell 10.85% to 2,490 from 2,793. Sequentially, September’s 6,955 units are down 7.37% from August’s 7,508, and domestic sales are down 17.08% from 5,385 in August; exports actually rose 17.29% from 2,123 in the prior month.
Despite the overall contraction, Honda noted that demand for its compact Amaze and mid‑size City remains steady, with dealers seeing consistent footfall for those models. The company’s vice‑president, Kunal Behl, highlighted the “positive sales momentum” for both sedans, underscoring that the core lineup still pulls buyers.
In parallel, Honda is gearing up a facelift for its mid‑size SUV, the Elevate. The refreshed package is slated to hit dealers later this year and aims to bolster the brand’s SUV offering during the festive season, when buyers traditionally shift toward larger cars.
For buyers, the current market picture means that while sedans remain a reliable choice, the upcoming Elevate refresh could offer a more compelling SUV option as prices are expected to stay in the mid‑₹10‑₹12 lakh range. Dealers, meanwhile, will need to manage tighter inventory for the fall and prepare for the new SUV launch.
The Elevate facelift is expected to roll out in October, with city‑wise availability starting in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. Keep an eye on the pricing and feature updates as the launch approaches, as they will set the tone for the rest of the year’s SUV sales.
