Delhi Police on Tuesday filed a First Information Report against CJP leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde for entering the Jantar Mantar area without permission—a site that had recently been removed from the official protest list. The trio were arrested after bypassing heavy barricades, and police moved 11 of their members to Jaffarpur Kalan station in Dwarka district. Security was tightened around the police compound when CJP workers staged a sit‑in outside the station, demanding the release of the detainees. Abhijeet Dipke, the CJP founder, slammed the action as kidnapping, alleging that lawyers were barred from meeting the detained leaders. Dipke posted on X that “Delhi Police has turned into kidnappers of Shah,” and accused the authorities of violating the rule of law. Earlier this month, the Delhi Police had denotified Jantar Mantar Road as a protest site, reallocating the space to Ramlila Maidan, Burari Ground and CBD Ground under a standing order issued by Commissioner Anurag Kumar. The FIR is now under review by the Delhi Police court, where a hearing is expected in the coming weeks.
