The first thing you’ll notice about the JSW Combat is the punch of 360 hp – a figure that sits comfortably alongside the Kia Sorento’s 280 hp and the Toyota Fortuner’s 250 hp. With 610 Nm of torque, the hybrid can feel as powerful on a hill as it does on a straightaway.
Under the hood, the Combat borrows a 1.5‑litre turbo‑petrol engine and pairs it with two electric motors that drive the front wheels. An 18.4‑kWh battery and a three‑speed dedicated hybrid transmission make the system lean yet efficient. In practice, you should expect about 90 km of pure electric drive under NEDC, and a combined range that could stretch to roughly 1,100 km if you keep the battery topped up.
Design-wise, the SUV keeps the Jetour T2’s boxy silhouette but adds a sharper front fascia, 20‑inch alloy wheels, roof rails and a spare wheel on the tailgate – a nod to practicality. Inside, a 15.6‑inch touchscreen sits beside a 10.25‑inch digital dash. Features like ventilated front seats, a 12‑speaker Sony audio system and Level‑2 ADAS are on the table, though the final Indian trim list will be revealed at launch.
The launch is set for December 4, with production slated at JSW’s plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. While pricing and booking details remain under wraps, the Combat is positioned to tap the growing appetite for premium plug‑in hybrids that fit both long‑haul and daily city trips. Keep an eye on the December unveiling for the exact price, boot space figures and any optional trims.
