A 17‑year‑old girl filed an FIR alleging she was gang‑raped by three men inside Delhi’s Aastha Kunj Park on her birthday.
The victim said she left home at 5 pm, visited Kalkaji Mandir, and entered the park through Gate 7, accompanied by a male friend.
When the trio approached, they claimed to be policemen, seized the girl's phone and threatened her with a black‑coloured gun, before forcing her to a dark area of the park.
The accused, identified by the victim as Asif in a purple shirt, Hemu, and Deepu, used knives to coerce her into sexual acts at multiple benches, and demanded she leave quickly, threatening retaliation if she spoke.
Delhi Police spokesperson confirmed that officers reached the scene within hours, secured the area, and began a formal inquiry; the victim has been directed to the Police Crime Research unit for medical and forensic support.
The investigation will now focus on locating the accused, retrieving CCTV footage from nearby shops, and tracing the alleged weapons used.
Delhi’s police service has said it will review park security protocols after the incident, citing a recent rise in sexual assault complaints in the capital.
