A video captured an eight‑year‑old dragging a kindergarten girl into a classroom, banging her head on a desk, then hurling stones and a flower pot at her, the footage shows. The fight lasted about one minute and a half before the boy left the room, still clutching the girl's limp body.
The six‑year‑old lost consciousness and bled heavily. Her parents found her lying in a pool of blood and rushed her to a Sector 6 Civil Hospital. A doctor at PGI Chandigarh, Dr. N. Kumar, confirmed she is in serious condition and is receiving intensive care.
Police have begun an inquiry, questioning the boy's parents and reviewing security footage. Victim's uncle Suraj Singh said the boy had a history of aggression, including a prior complaint for hitting a dog. The boy's mother, Meera Devi, told reporters she was unaware of his violent tendencies.
The incident has prompted calls for tighter child‑safety protocols at schools in Haryana. Sanskriti Model School officials said they will cooperate fully with authorities. A police spokesperson added that the case will be prosecuted under the Juvenile Justice Act, with a court hearing expected by mid‑November.
