The Gurugram police recovered Yuvraj Singh Manchanda’s body from a drain on 10 September, confirming the earlier report that the 32‑year‑old was killed by his former colleague Anya Vats and her husband Sanyam Sachdeva.
On 8 September, Vats lured Manchanda to a rented car near Lajpat Nagar, where she shot him in the neck before the pair fled with the body.
The motive appears financial; Vats had been dismissed from their shared real‑estate firm for irregularities and had been helping Manchanda with deals while living beyond her means.
After the body was found, police cremated the remains on 14 September, two days before the family learned of the death, sparking demands for a post‑mortem report and evidence preservation.
Both Vats and Sachdeva are now in custody, with the case to be filed in the Gurugram court, where a trial is scheduled for early October.
