Jeep has signalled a new D‑segment pickup for the Indian market, but the company has withheld any launch date, price or powertrain details. The announcement came from Stellantis India MD Shailesh Hazela, who outlined a broader expansion that includes B, C and D‑segment SUVs and a pickup.
The pickup will sit alongside Jeep’s current Compass, Meridian, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, giving the brand a first foray into the lifestyle‑pickup niche that has seen Toyota Hilux and Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler stir interest. Hilux logged 3,751 sales last fiscal year, a 23.9% jump, while Mahindra’s new model is slated for an April 2027 launch.
From a buyer’s angle, the lack of specs means no concrete comparison yet, but the pickup’s entry could mean a more affordable, utilitarian option in a segment that still feels niche. Buyers watching the market will likely gauge the vehicle’s price and payload against Hilux’s 3,751‑unit haul and Mahindra’s upcoming offering.
Stellantis’ Fastlane 2030 plan, backed by roughly ₹4,000 crore of Indian investment, earmarks seven new products and five refreshes across Jeep and Citroën by 2030. The first of these—an unannounced pickup—could launch as early as Q2 2027, though the exact schedule remains unclear.
When Jeep finally drops the pickup’s launch window, the next steps for buyers will be to weigh its price, boot space and off‑road capability against the already‑established Hilux and the soon‑to‑come Scorpio Lifestyler. Until then, the announcement remains a headline‑ready tease for the Indian pickup segment.
