At a packed rally in Kuppam on Monday, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu denied claims that the 16,347‑post Mega DSC recruitment was marred by corruption, insisting the selection process was free of irregularities. He invoked the fact that he has overseen 14 DSCs, none of which produced a paper leak, and that the 2025 exam attracted 3.3 lakh candidates.
The opposition YSR Congress Party, led by former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, filed 350 petitions to halt the appointments and has called for a CBI probe. A protest outside the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday turned tense when sports‑quota teachers joined the sit‑in, prompting police to deny the YSRCP demonstration.
In response, the state government has notified the Central Bureau of Investigation to conduct an inquiry by June 15, saying the agency will review the selection data and interview candidates. Officials also stated that the CBI will examine whether any ineligible candidates received appointments.
A 28‑year‑old teacher from Narsapur, who sat the exam on May 28, said the announcement eased his anxiety and restored his faith in the state's recruitment process.
