The 17,500‑sq‑ft 255 Ocean Boulevard mansion in Golden Beach changed hands for $69.5 million this September, setting a new local sales record. The property was purchased by Delaware‑based Meridian Coast LLC, a shell company linked to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Devin Kay of The Exclusive Group at Douglas Elliman told Fox News Digital that the deal would fit into Bezos' existing Indian Creek portfolio, adding a third property to the billionaire's holdings. "I can't speak to whether Jeff Bezos is involved in this particular transaction, but from a real estate perspective the acquisition would make sense for someone with an existing footprint on Indian Creek," Kay said.
Golden Beach’s scarcity of oceanfront land has driven prices up; Jordan Karp, Miami’s No. 9 agent, said only about 60 homes line the oceanfront, with demand outstripping supply. "Oceanfront single‑family land in Miami‑Dade County is virtually extinct," he noted, adding that buyers often acquire multiple plots to create expansive compounds.
The transaction is still under review, and no official confirmation of Bezos' ownership has been released. If confirmed, the purchase could prompt a flurry of further acquisitions by the billionaire as he seeks to diversify his South Florida real‑estate portfolio.
