TVS Motor said it is gearing up to push production as sales climb.
The company will raise its annual two‑wheeler output from 6.8 million to 8.3 million units by the end of FY27. Electric scooter output will move from around 60,000–65,000 per month to 80,000.
In the last quarter, the firm sold 19.19 lakh vehicles, up 27% over the same period a year earlier. Electric scooter sales doubled, hitting 1.86 lakh units—an increase of 133%—while domestic EV sales grew 129% against an industry 84% rise.
Bajaj, Hero, and other rivals have been tightening supply chains, but TVS’s expansion gives it a cushion to meet rising demand, especially in tier‑2 and rural markets where EV uptake is fastest.
For buyers, the upside is clearer availability of models like the iQube family scooter and the new Orbiter, which is already seeing increased production and export. More units should also temper price hikes that have been a concern as supply lags demand.
The company expects to hit the 80,000‑per‑month target in Q4 FY27, with the Orbiter already rolling off the line for local sales and overseas markets. Keep an eye on pricing and the rollout of newer variants in the coming months.
