The clip shows Rahul Gandhi shoving through a crowd in Delhi’s opposition protest, briefly passing Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar. BJP leaders shared the footage on X on 13 October 2026, branding the act as an insult to Karnataka and a sign of Congress arrogance.
Shivakumar responded immediately, warning that the 10‑second frame “does not tell the whole story” and accusing the BJP of diverting attention from the critical issue of voter fraud. “Vote Chori is the real fight and we must not lose sight of safeguarding every Indian’s right to vote,” he wrote.
The chief minister, who has repeatedly called for the resignation of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists, framed the incident as a distraction from that larger agenda. He urged the opposition to concentrate on the integrity of the electoral rolls and to defend the democratic process.
Other BJP figures joined the critique: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Tejasvi Surya posted scathing remarks, citing a history of Congress entitlement and questioning Gandhi’s conduct toward state leaders. They painted the episode as evidence of a “dynasty’s sense of entitlement” that extends beyond any single incident.
The Congress party has yet to issue a response, leaving the narrative open as the election calendar tightens and the ‘Vote Chori’ debate intensifies.
